Charting Careers in Microsoft Applications

‘Oh, the places you'll go…’

I love this quote from Dr. Seuss because my wife Meg and I have made this a reality in our lives, and our careers have taken us all over the world.

But, when I talk about the places you'll go, I'm not just talking about travel.

I'm talking about roles, levels, how far you can go in your career, and what you want to achieve.

Not every path is the same.

Everybody has their unique characteristics, skills and strengths.

There are many pathways I've come across in my career in Microsoft Business Applications:

👉Functional Consultant
A key link between technology and business. The skillset includes requirement gathering and translating business needs into technical solutions.

👉Developer
Innovators in technology, specialising in developing custom solutions to enhance Microsoft platforms. They collaborate closely with architects and UX designers.

👉 Solutions Architect
Visionaries who oversee tech solutions and ecosystems, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements. This role is often a natural progression for experienced Functional Consultants and Developers.

Each career path is unique, reflecting individual skills and strengths.

What's your journey in the Microsoft landscape?

What skill are you striving to master next?

Get in touch to find out how I can help.
