Power Platform Happy Hour is an in-person social event run every six weeks for people interested in or work with the Microsoft Power Platform and its various components, such as PowerApps, Microsoft Flow, Power BI, Dynamics 365, Mixed Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Power Platform Independent Software Vendors (ISV).

It is a place to ask, connect and share ideas about this fantastic technology and potentially a place to collaborate with like-minded people to spark ideas of innovation.

The event is located at a local pub that allows for the purchase of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (remember some people need to be at work the next day) as well as food if some decide to stay for a few hours.

Think of this is like catching up with mates for a drink. You may buy your own or you may shout a round, it's up to you. There is no company funding anything for your event.

In London, we chose a place next to the most connected railway station to give people the most transport options to get to the venue easily. People can even pop over from France should they want to get involved.

There are many outstanding events in our great community that involve presentations and speakers, the Power Platform Happy Hour has none of that. As I said, this is about asking questions of your peers, connecting with interesting people, and sharing your experience with the Microsft Power Platform. You never know who is going to show up. So come along, buy the person that you want to connect with a drink and let's see where this journey takes you.

From a logistics perspective, we use WhatsApp to make an announcement about when the next event is on and that’s it.

  1. If you want to launch a Power Platform Happy Hour in your city, please get in touch by creating a WhatsApp group with the following name: <Name of your city> PPHA.
  2. Then invite me to the group and let me know what city you are in. You need to make me an admin on your group and I will post to the group the graphic image with your city name and your WhatsApp group invite URL.
  3. Next, choose the Pub that you will meet at and specify the time and date.
  4. This is the format of what I share on social media such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
  • Power Platform Happy Hour 4th April 5:30 pm onwards
  • Central Station Public House
  • 37 Wharfdale Rd, London N1 9SD
  • https://goo.gl/maps/wpQxUdBJ1ZU2
  • #PowerPlatform #London #PPHH #Dynamics365 #MicrosoftFlow #PowerApps #PowerBI
  1. It’s worth noting the hashtag #PPHH (this is so you can see what others are doing at their Power Platform Happy Hour and share yours)
  2. One other thing – sometimes spammers will join the group. To combat this go to the Group Settings and Send Messages and set to Only Admins and set Edit Group Info to Only Admins. Since doing this across the group we have prevented any future spamming. However, so that your members can still, just make all people you know Admin. Simple 😊
